Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce

About:

The Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce was established in 1984, and for over three decades it has provided professional and customized services to Israeli corporations and individuals operating in the Asian markets as well as Asian entities and investors operating in Israel. The Israel-Asia Chamber is an umbrella chamber for the following chamber: Hong kong, India, Armenia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, China, Nepal, Malesia, Cambodia, Korea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.


The Chamber continuously strives to promote commercial relations between Israel and Asia and deepen bilateral cooperation between the Chamber and its sister organizations. It has vast experience in identifying and creating business opportunities for the benefit of its members and partners, and in assisting them in bridging the cultural differences and closing deals successfully.

 

The Chamber is a nonprofit organization which cooperates closely with its founders, which include Israel's Ministries of Economy, Finance and Foreign Affairs as well as Israel’s leading economic organizations - The Manufacturers Association of Israel, The Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute and The Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce.

 

The Chamber is active in most Asian countries, including countries with which Israel has no diplomatic relations, namely: China, Hong Kong, India, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar (Burma), Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia.

  • Assistance in communicating with the Asian Embassies in Israel and Israel’s Embassies in Asia

  • Assistance in obtaining visas and overcoming regulatory challenges.

Mr. Matan Vilnai

President

Matan Vilnai is a general (reserve) and his public service includes 36 years of service in the Israel Defense Forces, from paratroopers to the rank of major general, including the head of the IDF manpower division, the commander of the Southern Command, and the deputy chief of staff. Vilnai served as a member of the Knesset and as a minister in the government during the years 1999-2012 in various senior positions, including Minister of Science, Culture and Sport, member of the Security Cabinet, Deputy Minister of Defense and Minister of Home Security. Matan Vilnai served as the Ambassador of the State of Israel in the People's Republic of China between 2012-2016. Vilnai was appointed Director of the China Research Program at the Institute for National Security Studies in January 2017. In October 2017 he was appointed President of the Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce.

Liron Urman

Co-founder of WCF- Women Create Future Israel-China business women forum

Before joining IACC, Liron worked in the tourism industry for 10 years, planning and operating business and official delegations from China to Israel, introducing them to Israeli innovation and helping them to find local partners and collaborations.

Liron is a specialist for Israel-China cross-cultural business consulting and scouting for innovation, for Israeli and Chinese private enterprises, academic institutes, and Israeli governmental and municipal chambers. Lived for two years in Beijing, China.

Holding MA in Chinese Language and Culture from Hebrew University.
